BOOKS ARE GALFRIENDS, AND GALFRIENDS ARE BOOKS. So much to learn...

Just got a mail from Harsha to name my all time XI for Indian cricket team. Cricinfo is listing of all teams.

I gave him the 15 choice of mine. Letz see some more time for their list, and how comparable mine will be...

1. Sunil Gavaskar

Greatest Opener. Only Indian player that can be a sure shot for the All time world XI. Can anybody bat against jockers like Brett Lee, let alone those pace quartet without a helmet?

2. Virender Sehwag

Game changer, best in the world now

3. Rahul Dravid

Who else at no. 3?

4. Sachin Tendulkar

Irreplaceable. Must be the no. 4 not only in any all time XI, but also the all time world XI

5. Gundappa Vishwanath (VVS Laxman)

I prefer Vishy for his sexy Square cut, but can not omit VVS

6. Vinoo Mankad

Traditionally India is fed with atleast 2 spinners, also, we need 3 quickies when playing abroad. So, if the spinner can bat a bit? Thatz right, hez more than just a spinner apart from stunningly defencive and also scoring opener too). I could have placed Sourav Ganguly, had it not for this logic. What a pity that India's all time great captain can not command a place in the all time XI!

7. Mahendra Dhoni (Farukh Engineer) (Probably VC) (WK)

I like Farookh Engineer, but Mahi could be a deputy for Kapil do dil do

8. Kapil Dev (C)

Can any one bring better?

9. Anil Kumble (VC)

Hahaha. He too is a captaincy material, greatest spinner, and match winner country produced, and could bat a bit. Most of the Indian teams did not bat deep, but this one with Srinath too, can be worth watching

10. Javegal Srinath

Kapil might have been feel blesed if he be there a decade ago and

11. Mohammed Nissar [Irresistible choice]  (Some one world class, but I can not find anybody worth a place in an All time XI. May be Zaheer Khan)

I'l try for the All time world XI later...
